A Happy Coincidence

A happy coincidence, that cold winter night;
She looked beautiful or beyond!
I was nervous, though hid it well.
A demeanor uptight!

Gathered guts to walk up to her,
said "Hello", or so I hope!
Avoiding getting lost,
in those infinite eyes.

Man Up! I said to myself,
confidently  I asked her for a dance;
hesitant, I put my hand on her slender waist,
Guilty! Yes I did steal a glance

With the tunes we swayed,
and I saw her body move;
She was smiling.
That smile, it hasn't left me in these 97 days...

Maybe it was how our fingers touched,
or how her tress bothered her eye;
somewhere somehow that night,
I fell in love with the smile she tried to hide...

Maybe she still has fairy dust on her,
or maybe she conceals a broken past.
I don't promise to love to mend;
But I do promise to love her, till I last.

This love will not be convenient,
but wasn't convenience a state of mind?
To love her would be the last choice I'd make.
But I just do, because I don't know how not to.

  1. And then she flicks out her knife,
    and jabs it into my chest;
    the steely end takes out my life,
    and brings the dance to rest

    The melody of laughter,
    of love, of song and dance,
    turns into melancholy of danger,
    of risk, of blood and dark romance

    You wake up mightily shaken,
    relieved to find your love standing next;
    you believe you are mistaken,
    but she whispers the tune you dreamt."

    Sorry about that. I just thought of making it creepy. :P Thanks for the lovely poem.

    Love,
