These barracks tell a tale,
a bit of you, a lil' bit of me; 
of the echoing laughter, 
and the silent tears, which it did see...

 a live mine field for 'jangus', 
and no less than home for you;
it has witnessed you repent getting lost, 
but also seen you enjoy the victory cake's frost! 
dash down, observe and move,
concepts better learnt, using shortcuts;
camo, concealment and a hidden supply chain, 
Fazir anna's snickers trained! 

 your farzi Fazir's, "kya maidummmm"
and akka's distant melodious hum; 
little things lasting imprints, 
few memories you'll carry from this stint...
a successful run from ATA to drill square,
and half the battle was won ;
the nightmare coming to life with a flat tyre,
saw many friendships set on its pyre !!
camps and josh runs, 
redefined hygeine and comfort! 
Adm annas blessed echelons, 
soothed the burns and bruises of take 100 carry on!! 

 Fearful of the DS, 
who by the end became your protective shield! 
groomed by the very best of the best, 
you are set to step into the starry world of olive green;
memories are what you created together,
memorable are the moments when you struggled to live; 
you stepped out to never return, 
but always carrying along what you had here to learn;

 paths have reached the cross roads,
it's time to part ways and soar high; 
the silence in the ante room, the corridors, these barracks...
echo with a wish.... sometimes.... do stop by.....

She speaks..... What to do? When you have to choose between what is right and what makes you happy. Although going with what makes you happy is always the rosier option but they say, what is right will eventually make you happy.  I was not sure, I just couldn't reach a decision so escaping the situation was the easiest way out and that's exactly what I did. Yes, I stood him up. What could I possibly tell Avijit? How could I ever explain the mess I had created in my head which ultimately made things messier. He's the kind, who would take life as it comes. Thinking and planning just don't exist in his dictionary. Telling him that, "even though the feelings are mutual, I can't get into a relationship with you", would have made things weird for him. LOL We were in the same school. Our lives belonged to two separate worlds.... Seldom we spoke... She was this girly girl, pretty down to earth, certainly not the sort who would go 'eeeeeeeeep'. She was a decent, aware and a smart person. Perhaps that is what made her different. We would travel in the same school bus. Being the senior most lot. I and my bunch of guy friends would do shit crazy stuff to people on two wheeler s . Those bus journeys were the times when we started to interact and got talking. Our XII boards were over and that was the period of absolute ' vellapanti '. I had given the NDA exam and somehow managed to successfully clear it.
