Personal Tragedy Commercialized

Image
photo courtesy: ibtimes.co.in  Take a moment and think,  of those raped and the others afraid to be  Those innumerable subconscious strategies; that constant lingering fear, Do you not see? Countless lessons painfully shared; avoid dark lanes, keep a pepper spray! The frantic mother reminding you; be back before the day light fades away. Can you feel the mounting panic, heart thumping and throat drying?; The car with drunk yelling " aye chalti hai ?" and the several frigid eyes prying; Touched against her wish, by inquisitive tutors and frisky bosses. Are you telling me that a girl's destiny, her LIFE;  is determined by the coin he tosses! I'm born human! I was told I have rights too!  But beyond books when reality strikes, there is no law, no system to reach out to.  When I gather guts to complain,  "Why you?" "What did you do?" I'm asked.  "Believe me Maa !" Trust your ch...

The Dying Conscience

Image
It is amazing how the humanity in us is subliming. It is amazing how SO many lives are lost every day, every hour only because out of the the hundred passers by not even one person was human enough to get medical aid or even simply make a call! Majority of lives lost, in accidents, are due to excessive blood loss and delayed evacuation. So next time you utter, "It's the system which is responsible!" Give it a second thought. No identity, no face yet a strongly felt existence; comfort overshadows me, realized only when the air is tensed; call me humanity, conscience or the good, my bearer would suppress me; but absence in others! certainly criticizes he. Your selfishness appalls me! Your nonchalance outrages me! I die a little every time, your purpose you defy. The crying and the wailing you ignored, the helpless desperation you could oversee; A LIFE you left to bleed and end! because there's some other place y...

The Google Glamour

During my trip to Hyderabad this summer, I went to the Google Office. Had to while away some time alone for everybody was busy with some office thing. Had so many interesting options for time pass that i decided to avail none. :D Instead just sat down to scribble and captured a bit of everything. =)  Sitting in the break out, midst the hustle bustle;  the splash of colour palette,   a little too much for my world of black and white; the coolest office they say, true testimony, if not more; GFL (Google Football League), the spa, the Zumba class, and not to forget the bewitching food court! you can love your work,  or settle with the work place; an incentive good enough,  if you feel deceived by the glamorous corporate haze; have to spend an hour,  and options too many!  the play room they suggested,  had a choice of live action over virtual media!  it's a lively place, a happy one the laughte...

Let Go.

Image
You are sitting in a crowd, consumed in your own thoughts, desperately trying to make sense of the past; too inconsequential, people may say, but a closure you demand. Maybe it's right before you, only you choose to look away; The reasons and explanations,  too contradictory to your world of make believe;  In constant conflict with reality,  you wish to see the bigger picture; If everything happens for a reason,  why all those you listed, don't convince? Can strangers evolve to mean more than life, only to play havoc in yours? Were you meant to be strangers? Did you in defiance bring it on yourself? "What happens, happens for good!" So you've been constantly told;  what good did it bring to you?  When in the end all it brought was hurt. But then Girl just remember what you are worth,  No nobody can make you doubt yourself; But if and when your sine curve hits a low, We can have our talk and make mystical sense; You lo...

It is OK

Image
It's OK to not have it figured out, it's OK to not measure things and just live in the moment; it's OK to know that none of it makes sense, once in a while you can just let things happen. Stop connecting the dots have you not learnt enough? it never went the way you expected, was it not life's another big bluff? It's OK to not know the future, it's OK to burn your fingers and learn. Take that leap of faith, perhaps this is where life took a blessed turn. Stick to it, if it makes you happy, Get rid of it, if it bothers you. Keep it simple! For how it ends there's not much you can do. It's OK to hold on It's OK to let go Just hope you're wise enough to know the difference.

To a Friend Lost in Time

Image
Read it and fall back in time, the time free of impressions of the present Think of us, of you and me of us "young adults" merrily content in the tangles of immaturity Of the stupid reasons and explanations we gave to each other trying to make it a little better  For once go back in time  and steal a moment you'll find me  you'll find your happy element too... Remember the vivid conversations, the hues of absolute craziness and the many tears shed Those talks in the dead of the night and the unexplainable bills that followed! When getting angry was only about  coming late and a few calls missed When a sorry hug and a bit of telepathy was the way to make up for it  When periods of not talking were disrupted by emergency time outs; When I could wake you up from sleep only because I was wide awake To the random poems and singing over the phone To that tease which followed  To how extremely ...
